Main discussion points:

Alan presented his intention to integrate the Welsh language to the spell checker Language Tool and the Corpora project for the main MSc individual project. Bill agreed that these projects would integrate well in the scope of the degree in language technology.
Bill presented the tawa library and the potential of compression in the domain of machine translation, segmentation of parallel corpora etc…
Both agreed that it would be nice to finish on time, ie. end of the first semester, to be able to manage the individual MSc project and write its associated dissertation.

Actions:

[Alan]: Create a system to log the meetings (this website), find a Research Question to justify the mini-project academically
[Bill]: Giving Alan access to former students mini-project logs and dissertation.
[Bill] Sending Alan last year’s introduction to programming lectures
